Lady Shruti Rana

Shruti Rana is an educationist, and musician and a teacher/exponent of Indic traditional knowledge systems and philosophy. She is also an Indic psychologist and health consultant and works towards social empowerment and wellness of women, youth and ethnic communities. She is also a documentary film maker. She founded Shruti Foundation, a non profit, charitable trust in 2006 for education, traditional wisdom and human rights. While she spent her earlier years in Kolkata, Delhi and Gurgaon, she now lives in Belfast,U.K. and works both from Delhi (India) and Northern Ireland in the U.K. She was awarded the Delhi Ratna Govt. of India Award in 2002 for her contribution in the realm of healing music.

As a psychologist and health consultant, Lady Rana has been facilitating wellness over the past decade. Her Nada Empowerment workshops and Vedic courses experientially teach powerful methods of healing and empowerment with sound and mantra with methods for diagnosis, treatment and cure of disease. She teaches Indian sciences and their scientific applications in health and the development of consciousness, through clinical and experiential research, and facilitates contemporary understanding of traditional wisdom and technologies, through lectures and courses on Indic texts, systems and methodologies. Her Mantric music concerts continue to influence aspirants and participants and her healing music (audio CDs) is used by individuals and by medical, educational and research institutions worldwide.

Lady Rana, in her role as an educationist, has facilitated faculty training, integral education workshops with over 5000 thousand teachers worldwide. She conducts specialized workshops with students and women on self-development, leadership, concentration, success and motivation, Indic science and spirituality, and has been working with educationists and institutions worldwide, to establish new systems and paradigms for integral education, evaluation and accreditation. She is on the board of the South Asia Initiative of the University of Dublin (Trinity College). She has also been invited to be Hon. Visiting Research Fellow to the School of History and Anthropology, Queens University, Belfast UK. She is visiting faculty to various universities as well as health, cultural and academic institutions internationally.

Through Shruti Foundation, Lady Rana facilitates treatments, courses, audio and audio-visual educational material for health care, education and public awareness, as well for Teacher Training and Curriculums designed and taught by the foundation. She works towards facilitating authentic research and dissemination of knowledge and new paradigms of education which draw from Indian and other indigenous cultural and scientific systems methodologies. She was Co-convener of the World Congress on Psychology and Spirituality 2008, a conference involving 40 countries and is now organising and convening the international conference WE-ASC (World Educations-Arts Sciences and Culture) in January 2011, at New Delhi. The projects in process for 2010 are the Bachpan Bonding (Child to Child world exchange) programand the Curative Arts and Sciences Forum.

Lady Shruti Rana is the editor of SUTRA- the thread, her foundation’s research journal for education, traditional sciences and systems, health and consciousness. She has written various articles for newspapers, conferences and journals and is presently writing a book on the “Beeja Mantra (Seed Sound)” and on Indian approaches to Psychology and Consciousness. In April 2009, she launched the Shruti Foundation International Lecture Series with its first international lecture at Trinity College, University of Dublin, with the objective of encouraging global awareness and knowledge of Indian ways of knowledge, education and empowerment.

  • Sutra- The SF quarterly journal on education, psychology, traditional sciences and systems, health and consciousness.
  • Shruti Foundation International Lecture Series – Facilitating knowledge and awareness on Holistic ways of Knowledge and empowerment
  • NEIV- The New Enterprising Indigenous Vision initiative for Education, research for empowerment, health and sustainable development, which brings educators, thinkers, youth and women forward in experimentation, innovation and socio-economic empowerment initiatives, creating synergies between the privileged and non- privileged.
  • Vibrational Healing Workshops- Indic sciences of vibration and sound are used and taught for purification, healing and self empowerment.
  • Shuddham- The Safe Environment project.
  • Shrutinada Films: An audio-visual initiative which researches and creates documentary films and other audio visual materials for creating awareness of cultural paradigms and ways of empowerment and sustainable development.
  • Course Development: Credit Courses, Educational Curriculums and workshops on traditional knowledge Systems and faculty training.
  • Bachpan Bonding: Child to Child Exchange Program
  • Shakti -Shakti Women’s empowerment program.

She lives with her husband Lord Rana, a British Parliamentarian and hotelier in Belfast UK, and is a proud mother of two daughters based in India.

 

CLINICAL EXPERIMENTS and Medical Research

  • Experiments with the EEG (electro-encephalograph) on the relaxing effect, and conversion to alpha and theta brain waves chants at the VIMHANS hospital, New Delhi.
  • A four-week Sound Therapy course which showed a significant positive change in blood sugar, cholesterol, vital (lung) capacity and pulse rate.
  • Tests on the effect of Seed sounds on the energy centres with the Lecher Antenna.
  • The cure of Epilepsy and other nervous disorders.
